External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar's recent visit to the United Kingdom, at the behest of UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, has injected fresh momentum into the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The six-day trip, spanning March 4-9 and including a stop in Ireland, was marked by significant diplomatic engagements.

In his meetings with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and other key officials, Jaishankar emphasized the growing positive momentum in India-UK relations, further fueled by the resumption of Free Trade Agreement negotiations. Discussions also highlighted areas like technology cooperation and deepening people-to-people ties amidst global challenges.

During the visit, Jaishankar inaugurated India's new consulates in Belfast and Manchester, enhancing diplomatic outreach and business opportunities. He also addressed key topics such as trade negotiations, cybersecurity, and anti-India activities, reinforcing the bilateral commitment to strengthen political, economic, and cultural collaborations.
