During an official visit to New Delhi, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan underscored the significant bond between Armenia and India, despite the vast geographical distance separating them. He described the connection as deeply entrenched in shared civilizational values and history, noting Armenia's view of India as a trusted partner.

Speaking at the Indian Council of World Affairs, Mirzoyan expressed gratitude for India's early recognition of Armenian independence in 1991. He recalled the Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation signed four years later, which he deemed symbolic of both nations' commitment to ambitious joint projects as they celebrated its 30th anniversary.

Mirzoyan highlighted the historical foundation of the Armenia-India relationship, citing Armenian merchants' role in early modern cross-border trade in India. He also stressed the importance of preserving cultural heritage, with Armenian institutions in Kolkata and historic sites across India serving as testaments to the communities' enduring friendship.
