Paank, the human rights department of the Baloch National Movement, has issued a strong condemnation against the ongoing enforced disappearances of Baloch citizens by Pakistani security forces. The organization has raised grave concerns about an alarming increase in abductions, stating that these severe human rights violations persist without legal justification.
Paank, in a social media post, outlined several recent abductions that have heightened tensions. On March 5, 2025, a renowned photographer, Khalil Khalid from Ball Nigwar Dasht, was kidnapped in Gwadar. The following night, Dawood Baloch was seized during prayers in Panjgur, adding to the list of forced disappearances. By March 10, 2025, reports emerged of more abductions across various locations, including prominent individuals like Noor Jan and Levies Sepai Abid Baloch. The organization claims these actions exemplify a systematic campaign to intimidate and suppress the Baloch population.
Highlighting the violation of fundamental human rights and international law, especially the prohibition of arbitrary detention, Paank calls for immediate global intervention. They've urged the international community and human rights organizations to press Pakistan to stop these egregious acts. Paank warns that the silence of powerful global entities has permitted these abuses to continue unchecked and unchallenged.
