In light of escalating tensions, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy has called upon India and Pakistan to engage in 'direct dialogue' after India launched 'Operation Sindoor'. The operation targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

Lammy underscored the UK’s unique relations with both nations, advocating restraint to avert further escalation, which serves no winner. He reiterated the UK's condemnation of the devastating Pahalgam attack and emphasized the necessity of restoring regional stability and safeguarding civilian lives.

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office has pledged to support British nationals in the region round-the-clock, advising adherence to travel guidance. Additionally, Azerbaijan has urged peaceful resolutions to the conflict, highlighting global concern over the Indo-Pak tensions.
