Cavaliers F Love back from toe injury
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love returned from a toe injury to play against the Washington Wizards on Friday. With the team wanting him to work his way back slowly, Love started the game and played six minutes, producing four points on 1-for-5 shooting and adding one rebound and one assist.
It was Love's first action since Oct. 24, when he was shut down due to pain in his left foot that led to surgery in early November. He initially injured the toe during the preseason. Love indicated before the Cavaliers' shootaround on Friday that he was eager to return, particularly with the All-Star break coming up next week.
"I definitely want to be out there with these guys, especially during the break, and then we have those six or seven days where we have to rev it back up again and try to get back out there," Love told reporters. The five-time All-Star averaged 19 points and 13.5 rebounds in four games this season prior to the injury.
