The investigation of the Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi will be proceeded by the U.S. government, said Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during his visit to Hungary on Monday.

"America is not covering up for a murder," he said, adding that the United States would take more action to hold accountable to all those who are responsible for Khashoggi's death.

The U.S.-based Saudi journalist was killed inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in October. After initially denying his death, Saudi Arabia has confirmed that its agents killed him but the reports were denied saying its senior leaders were behind the killing.
