The Interior Ministry of Bahrain has issued a nationwide emergency alert after a confirmed Iranian drone strike on civilian targets in the Sitra area. Sirens blared across the country as citizens were advised to seek immediate shelter, according to Al Jazeera.
The recent attack reportedly resulted in casualties. Bahrain's state news agency reported four critically injured individuals, including children in need of urgent surgery. In response to the incident, Bapco Energies, a major energy company in Bahrain, declared force majeure on some of its operations.
The Iranian military operation targeted a water desalination plant, Bahrain's Ministry of Interior reported. Although Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian attempted to ease tensions by stating previous military comments were misinterpreted, he maintained Iran's right to retaliate if provoked. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has doubled down on demands for Iran's unconditional surrender, further escalating regional tensions.
