India's Coordinated Efforts Ensure Safety Amid West Asia Tensions

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) is prioritizing the safety of Indian nationals amid evolving situations in West Asia. Over 2,400 Indians have been evacuated from Iran, as advisories continue to update on safety measures, flight operations, and consular support. The MEA ensures comprehensive assistance for Indians in the Gulf region.

Amid growing concerns in West Asia, the Ministry of External Affairs is intensifying efforts to safeguard Indian citizens in the region. The MEA reported that more than 2,400 Indians have been evacuated from Iran via land crossings, given current airspace restrictions and heightened safety alerts.

The government stated that while Iran's skies remain partially closed to regular flights, the MEA is discouraging travel to the country and urging those present to seek safe routes to exit. Indian officials in Tehran have been pivotal in facilitating these transits, securing passage for 2,490 nationals through land borders.

Flight operations are gradually increasing across the region. Commercial flights from the UAE to India are being conducted under strict safety measures. Additionally, airlines like Air India, Indigo, and others have resumed services from Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain, ensuring connectivity for stranded Indians. Meanwhile, limited flights are available for travelers from Israel and Iraq as the MEA continues its vigilant monitoring.

Embassies and consulates remain operational 24/7, providing crucial assistance and international coordination for distressed Indians. Constant updates on travel advisories and collaborative efforts with local governance aim to address the needs of the Indian diaspora effectively. These initiatives highlight the government's commitment to the well-being of its citizens overseas.
