Allegations of Abuse Emerge After Midnight Raid in Balochistan
A recent night raid in Tump tehsil, Kech district, has led to allegations against Pakistani security forces and local militias involving mistreatment of women and children. Human rights organizations express concern over violence in Balochistan, while officials deny wrongdoing, citing lawful security operations.
A night raid in the Kohad locality of Tump tehsil, Kech district, has brought forth serious allegations against Pakistani security forces and army-supported militias. Eyewitnesses claim unnecessary aggression occurred, with women and children reportedly mistreated during the operation, according to The Balochistan Post (TBP).
The raid allegedly took place at 1:00 am on May 2, in the home of Dad Muhammad. Witnesses report both physical assaults on the residents and damage to property. Notably, Muhammad himself was said to have been attacked. As of yet, there has been no official statement from security forces addressing these claims.
The broader context includes historical grievances, with locals claiming that Muhammad's son, Chakar, was previously killed by a so-called 'death squad.' Such groups, believed to have ties to military intelligence, have long been accused of targeting civilians and activists, though authorities persistently deny their existence.
