In a tense development, authorities apprehended six individuals after overnight raids for allegedly raising pro-Pakistan slogans, disrupting business in a busy market and triggering widespread alarm, officials reported on Monday.

An FIR has been filed against more than forty people related to the Sunday incident, with Kashif, son of former corporator Tahseen, identified as the main suspect due to his connection with Maulana Tauqeer Raza's Ittehad-e-Millat Council. Raza has been incarcerated since his arrest last September following communal unrest in Bareilly.

Police, aided by CCTV footage, have identified fourteen suspects and detained six, including two minors. A complaint from bystander Vikas, who faced abuse and threats from the motorcycling group involved, catalyzed the police action. Authorities have heightened security measures in the Cantonment area to prevent further unrest.
