In a significant announcement, Russian ambassador to India, Denis Alipov, declared Russia's ambitious plan to host 500,000 international students by 2030, as revealed at the Indo-Russian Education Summit 2026. Alipov emphasized Russia's esteemed academic framework encompassing engineering, medicine, and artificial intelligence, positioning the nation as a global education hub.
Highlighting the summit, Alipov lauded the expanding academic exchanges and research partnerships between Russia and India. He expressed optimism for these collaborations, noting that such initiatives will help confront global challenges and foster innovation. He emphasized the growing academic ties, particularly in dynamic sectors like engineering, governance, and advanced technologies.
To bolster these educational links, Alipov mentioned recent partnerships, including collaborations with Dr. Ambedkar University and MGIMO University, as well as initiatives at Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University with several Indian institutions. Alipov also praised the expansion of Russian language centers in Trivandrum, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad, underscoring the burgeoning educational cooperation. The summit serves as a vital platform to advance India-Russia academic relationships, focusing on innovation and scholar exchange.
