Ayodhya and other regions of India witnessed tight security on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, as thousands gathered at Eidgahs and mosques to offer prayers. In Ayodhya, Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Grover announced comprehensive security measures, including CCTV and drone surveillance, ensuring a peaceful celebration.
Alongside security, Durgadi Fort drew attention due to protests by Shiv Sena workers and Hindu organizations, opposing the temporary restriction on Hindu devotees accessing the Durga temple during Eid prayers. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjay Jadhav confirmed the annual nature of these demonstrations and stressed that safety protocols were paramount.
Across India, Muslims celebrated the festival, symbolizing unity and brotherhood. In Delhi, extensive arrangements were made by law enforcement to maintain peace, with a focus on mixed-population areas. Authorities echoed the hope for ongoing peaceful celebrations, emphasizing the importance of conducting ritual sacrifices indoors.
