India-EU Tech Business Forum: Forging Digital and Trade Alliances
The inaugural Tech Business Forum, hosted by India and the EU in New Delhi, marks a significant milestone in fortifying digital and trade relations as part of the Trade and Technology Council. Gathering officials and industry leaders, the event emphasized private sector collaboration and joint innovation across technology sectors.
India and the European Union convened their first Tech Business Forum in New Delhi, a pivotal initiative under the Trade and Technology Council (TTC) aimed at strengthening digital and trade relations. The event, as per an EU statement, aligns with the Comprehensive Strategic Agenda Towards 2030, endorsed by EU and Indian leaders.
Organized by the EU Delegation to India, Bhutan, and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the forum was backed by influential partners like the Federation of European Business in India (FEBI) and the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM). Envoys from various EU member states joined 100 tech companies to discuss areas including semiconductors, AI, cybersecurity, and digital infrastructure.
The forum, also a catalyst for operationalizing the EU-India Free Trade Agreement and agreements on advanced electronic signatures, highlighted India’s role as a strategic ally for the EU. With India's burgeoning digital economy and extensive infrastructure, the partnership underscores shared goals for sustainable technological advancement and resilient global value chains.
