Amid growing unrest, tensions in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) have reached a boiling point, with protests against Pakistani security forces escalating. Authorities used tear gas to quell demonstrations led by the Joint Awami Action Committee as a shutter-down strike continues amid a severe communication blackout.

The situation remains tense in cities like Bhimbar and Kotli following deadly clashes that claimed seven lives over the weekend, as reported by Dawn. Anti-Pakistan protests have drawn hundreds to the streets, amplifying the crisis as the international community watches closely.

The crackdown has prompted over 50 British parliamentarians to write to UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, demanding action and expressing concern about communication restrictions and arrests, including of British nationals. Former J&K Police Chief Shesh Paul Vaid condemned the heavy-handed response, drawing parallels to historical massacres and accusing Pakistan of disregarding Kashmiri welfare.
