Nepal's Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal will embark on a diplomatic mission to China, as announced by the country's foreign affairs ministry. Khanal's visit from June 14 to 17, 2026, comes at the invitation of China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi, a pivotal figure in the Communist Party of China.

During his stay in Beijing, Khanal aims to engage in dialogue with his Chinese counterpart to bolster bilateral relations and explore avenues for deeper cooperation between Nepal and China. The discussions are set to involve high-level Chinese dignitaries, further solidifying diplomatic ties.

This visit follows Khanal's recent diplomatic trip to India, where he engaged in comprehensive talks with Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar. The ministers reviewed a wide array of bilateral issues and initiated steps to fortify the India-Nepal partnership across various sectors, including legal frameworks and cultural projects.
