The Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) has come forward with accusations against Pakistan's leading political parties, blaming them for participating in a repressive campaign against protesters in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
The committee remains steadfast in their commitment to peace, even as tensions rise and PoJK endures an extended shutdown. JAAC's social media statements sharply criticized the PML-N and PPP, labelling them as complicit in acts of 'murder, coercion, oppression, and tyranny.'
In the face of escalating tensions, JAAC emphasizes that its protests remain peaceful. The organization has highlighted ongoing strikes in Rawalakot, where the city is under curfew and the region experiences another day of shutter-down and wheel-jam strikes. Despite these challenges, JAAC reports continued peaceful sit-ins at several Rawalakot locations, united in their demands amidst deserted streets.
JAAC also flagged attempts by political factions to undermine their Charter of Demands, which calls for abolishing elite privileges, removing Assembly seats for Pakistan-based refugees, ensuring free healthcare and education, building an international airport, and ending employment quotas for the refugees in PoJK.
