Speaking at the 37th Annual General Meeting of Tibet Initiative Deutschland (TID) in Berlin, Sikyong Penpa Tsering reaffirmed his condemnation of China's policies in Tibet, urging the international community to access Tibet's narrative through historical accuracies rather than China's portrayed narratives, reports the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA).

Sikyong emphasized that peace in Tibet cannot be realized through suppressing identity, distorting history, or denying fundamental rights. He called for an objective examination of Tibet's history, referring to research that questions Chinese historical narratives, including studies by Professor Hon-Shiang Lau on archives from the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties.

Concerned over restrictive Chinese policies, Sikyong mentioned issues like the Ethnic Unity and Progress Law and religious restrictions, while updating on engagements with European leaders about human rights and the Tibetan people's right concerning the Dalai Lama's reincarnation, the CTA reported.
