India's financial assistance has led to the inauguration of a new dormitory building for the Lowo Nyiphug Namdrol Norbuling Monastic School in Mustang, Nepal. The project, a High Impact Community Development initiative, aims to improve local education while preserving cultural heritage.
The Lowo Nyiphug Namdrol Norbuling Monastic School in Lomanthang Rural Municipality-1, Mustang, Nepal, has seen the inauguration of a new dormitory building, funded by the Government of India. On Tuesday, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava and Tashi Nharbu Gurung, Lomanthang Rural Municipality Chairman, jointly opened the facility, according to the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.
The newly built double-story dormitory, comprising four blocks and related facilities, was developed under a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) managed by Lomanthang Rural Municipality. The school, vital in preserving local cultural heritage, offers both Buddhist teaching and a standard curriculum based on Nepal's educational system.
Expressing gratitude, Ambassador Srivastava emphasized India’s ongoing commitment to fostering development in Nepal through projects like these, which reflect the broader Indo-Nepalese cooperation across various sectors. Stakeholders from Lomanthang underscored the positive impact of these infrastructural enhancements on the school’s accommodation and learning environment.
