PM Modi Lands in Geneva for G7 Summit Following Historic Slovakia Visit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Geneva for the G7 Summit after a historic and productive visit to Slovakia. The involvement at G7 will be his seventh in a row, and during his Slovakia visit, he received the prestigious Order of the White Double Cross from President Pellegrini. Key agreements were reached to strengthen India-Slovakia ties, focusing on education, talent mobility, and trade.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a significant stop in Geneva on Tuesday to participate in the G7 Summit at Évian-les-Bains, France. The summit, set from June 15 to 17, marks India's 13th participation as a partner country and Modi's seventh consecutive appearance.
His arrival in Geneva follows what has been described as a landmark visit to Slovakia. Modi emphasized the importance of this visit, highlighting its outcomes as a boon for bilateral relations, particularly benefitting youth and future generations. In a gesture of camaraderie, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico personally bid farewell to Modi.
While in Slovakia, Modi was awarded the nation's highest civilian honor, The Order of the White Double Cross, by President Pellegrini. The visit saw the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding aimed at bolstering ties in education, research, and labor migration. Additionally, both countries aim to enhance economic collaboration and investment opportunities through the India-Slovakia Joint Economic Committee.
