Russia dismisses reports linking political prisoner release to sanctions relief

​Russia ‌does not ​have political prisoners ‌and reports suggesting sanctions relief could be exchanged ‌for their release ‌are irrelevant, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said ⁠on ​Wednesday.

The ⁠Atlantic reported that ⁠the Kremlin could ​free some political prisoners, and ⁠the United States ⁠would ​ease sanctions on the Russian ⁠economy in return.
