South Korea's Lee instructs ministers not to pursue CPTPP membership this year

​South ‌Korean President ​Lee Jae Myung ‌instructed ministers at a Cabinet meeting on ‌Thursday not to pursue ‌an application to join the ⁠Comprehensive ​and Progressive ⁠Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) ⁠this year, the presidential ​office said.

The decision ⁠reflects concerns that ⁠membership ​would have a significant impact ⁠on South Korean farmers, ⁠the ⁠office said.
