Motor racing-Singapore sprint delayed due to heavy rain

The ‌start of ​the Singapore Grand Prix ‌sprint race on Saturday was delayed due to heavy ‌rain.

"Start delayed due to the ‌rain, there is a large amount of standing water ⁠around ​turn ⁠2 and 3," the FIA ⁠said in a statement ​after the medical car assessed ⁠track conditions. Red Bull's Max Verstappen ⁠took ​pole position for the sprint ahead ⁠of Mercedes driver George Russell ⁠and ⁠Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.
