Iran refutes Turkey minister's claim of joint operation against PKK militants

Iran on Monday denied Turkish interior minister's comments that Tehran and Ankara carried out a joint operation against militants from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) on Monday, Iran's semi-official Fars news agency reported.

"The Turkish army carried out the operation against the militant group PKK, but Iran's armed forces were not part of the operation," a source at Iran's armed forces told Fars. Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said earlier on Monday that Iran and Turkey carried out the joint operation.
