There are ways around a ruling that Prime Minister Theresa May can't bring back an unchanged version of Brexit deal for a new vote but it poses a major issue for the government, Britain's solicitor general said on Monday. Robert Buckland raised the prospect of prorogation - ending the parliament session prematurely - as one route around speaker John Bercow's ruling.

"We're in a major constitutional crisis here... This has given us quite a lot to think about in the immediate term. There are ways around this - a prorogation of parliament and a new session - but we are now talking about not just days but hours to the 29th of March," Buckland told BBC TV. "Frankly we could have done without this, but it's something we're going to have to negotiate with and deal with."
