Germany won't exclude companies from 5G auction if requirements met

Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Tuesday Germany was not planning to exclude any one company from its 5G auction per se, but rather wanted bidders in the mobile spectrum auction to meet certain requirements.

"The government has said our approach is not to simply exclude one company or one actor, but rather we have requirements of the competitors for this 5G technology," Merkel told a conference in Berlin. She added that a European approach would be desirable.
