Rockets coach D'Antoni discharged from hospital

Houston Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni was released from the hospital Tuesday but will miss his third straight game when the Rockets visit the Thunder in Oklahoma City. D'Antoni had been hospitalized since Friday due to an intestinal virus. The 67-year-old also was battling severe dehydration.

His condition began improving on Monday and was cleared to leave the hospital Tuesday after further progress. Associate coach Jeff Bzdelik will coach the Rockets on Tuesday night for the third straight game. Houston won the other two games.

"We're lucky we have some amazing assistant coaches and mature, vet players on this roster and in this organization to where guys know what we need to do," star guard James Harden told reporters. "It's pretty simple. Obviously, we love Mike and we want him back and healthy as soon as possible. But until that time, we have to go out there and try to win games and play the right way."

The Rockets (53-28) currently have the third-best record in the Western Conference and are hoping to overtake the Denver Nuggets (53-27) for the No. 2 seed. The regular season ends Wednesday night.
