REFILE-Italy's Di Maio says he and Salvini agree to work together

Italy's two deputy prime ministers, Luigi Di Maio and Matteo Salvini, agreed on Tuesday to a "common sense" deal to work together in the interests of political stability, Di Maio said.

The two political rivals, who came together after elections last year to form an unlikely coalition, have been squabbling for months, unnerving investors and fuelling speculation that their year-old government could collapse. On Monday, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte threatened to quit unless the two sides ended their feuding.

"I called Salvini this morning and we listened to each other and found a common sense solution," Di Maio told reporters in Rome. (Reporting by Giuseppe Fonte Editing by Mark Bendeich)
