Egyptian forces battling militants in Sinai peninsula: Reports

Militants launched attacks on a number of security checkpoints in northern Sinai and Egyptian forces were dealing with the attackers, Egypt's Extra News television said on Wednesday. The television station gave no further details but there were reports on social media of a number of casualties in the attacks.
