France's foreign minister said on Tuesday that proposals by Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara to open a dialogue with opponents over a contested election went in the right direction, but that quick acts needed to follow to restore calm.
"President Ouattara ... proposed a dialogue. That goes in the right direction and we want that acts are taken to appease things and that quick and concrete measures are put in place to turn the page of violence and division," Jean-Yves Le Drian told lawmakers.
