U.S. Afghanistan withdrawal will not affect national security -Sullivan

White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said on Thursday that the withdrawal of U.S. combat troops from Afghanistan will result in a lower level of daily intelligence but pose no threat to the United States.

"What I'm saying is that our ability to protect the American homeland in my view will not diminish. Our ability to collect intelligence on a day to day basis, against the comings and goings of actors within Afghanistan will diminish. That's a big difference."
