An army soldier was injured in a gunfight on Friday in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district, police said.

As security forces laid a cordon around Pazalpora village of Sopore, hiding militants fired at them triggering an encounter in which an army soldier was injured.

He was shifted to a hospital and his condition was stable, a police officer said.
