Three persons were arrested for allegedly duping a man by selling him fake US dollars for a nominal price, police said on Thursday.
In his police complaint, the victim alleged that he was contacted by one Raju who lured him into buying US Dollars valued at Rs 20 lakh by paying Rs 4 lakh, a senior police officer said.
He alleged that Raju had given him fake US Dollars.
During the investigation, police checked CCTV footage of the area and noticed five to six people roaming suspiciously near the area. One of the suspects was identified as Shamal of Jahangirpuri, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) M Harsha Vardhan said. Later, police received information that Shamal will come to Inderlok along with his associate with fake US Dollars. Two bundles of fake US Dollars, Rs 24,000 cash, six mobile phones and two motorcycles were seized from the accused, police added.
