UP: Courts awards life term to two in murder case

A court here on Friday sentenced two men to life imprisonment in a murder case.

It also imposed a fine of Rs 33,000 each on the convicts.

''The court of additional sessions judge Shailoj Chandra convicted Saleem (40) and his friend Ashiq (45) in the murder of Ikram (35),'' additional district government counsel Vikas Narayan Singh said.

Saleem and Ashiq killed Ikram by slitting his throat in January of 2015, he said.

Police registered a case of murder against the duo and filed a chargesheet against them in the court, Singh said.
