The European Commission will propose greater transparency in trading credit default swaps of eight top banks in the bloc, a European Union document seen by Reuters showed on Wednesday.
"Incomplete and asymmetrical reporting of single name CDS contracts referencing systemically relevant European entities causes insecurity in the market, especially in periods of stressed market conditions," the document prepared for a meeting of EU states said.
