Youth shot at by unidentified attacker in east Delhi

A 19-year-old youth was shot at by an unidentified man near his house in east Delhi's Mayur Vihar area, police said on Friday.

The victim, identified as Karan, works at a gym in Chilla Village, they said.

According to police, the youth was shot at by an unidentified man near his house in Trilokpuri area on Thursday. He sustained injury and was taken to Dharamshila Hospital where he is still under treatment.

A case under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of Arms Act has been registered at Mayur Vihar Police Station, a senior police official said.

Though the youth was shot at by one person, police suspects the involvement of more people in the incident.

''We are analysing CCTV footage of the place of incident and the identity of the accused is being established,'' he said.

Police said the motive behind the crime is yet to be ascertained and all angles are being probed.
