Siblings drown in Uttarakhand river

Two teenage siblings drowned in a flooded river in Almora district following heavy rains, police said on Tuesday.The siblings, who hailed from Bak village, had gone to bathe in the river on Monday evening and were swept away. A State Disaster Response Force SDRF team was rushed to the spot in Dharanaula area of Almora district immediately after the incident was reported.

A State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team was rushed to the spot in Dharanaula area of Almora district immediately after the incident was reported. SDRF personnel retrieved the bodies of 17-year-old Bhavna and her 16-year-old brother Aditya from the swollen river, they said.
