UK's Sunak aims for first Rwanda deportation flights in spring 2024

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said on Wednesday his government was aiming to get the first flights deporting asylum seekers to Rwanda going in spring of 2024.

"We will get the job done, and that involves the new treaty and new domestic legislation, and that will clear the remaining barriers to us getting flights off as planned in the spring of next year," Sunak said at a press conference outlining his response to a Supreme Court ruling that his previous plans were unlawful.
