Thailand's government on Wednesday said a strategic partnership had been agreed with Britain, its first such deal with a European country as it seeks to boost trade and attract more foreign investment.

The agreement was signed in Bangkok during a visit by British Foreign Secretary David Cameron. It will see Britain join the United States, China, Japan and Australia, among others with strategic partnerships with Thailand, Southeast Asia's second-biggest economy.
