The level of the Ural river in the Russian city of Orenburg has reached 11 metres and 29 centimetres or around 37 feet, the regional authorities said on Friday, up from 10.87 metres reported a day earlier.

Orenburg is battling rising water levels after major rivers across Russia and Kazakhstan burst their banks in the worst flooding seen in the areas in nearly a century.
