China says it monitored U.S. warship as it transited Taiwan Strait

China's military said on Wednesday that it monitored and warned a U.S. warship that had sailed through the Taiwan Strait.

The guided-missile destroyer USS Halsey transited a corridor in the Strait that is "beyond the territorial sea of any coastal state", according to a U.S. navy statement.
