The accident occurred on August 24, 2022, at Ma Anandamayi Marg in Sarita Vihar's traffic circle. A speeding car struck Singh, resulting in severe head injuries that left him unconscious. Senior police officials, including Deputy Commissioners of Police (traffic) Shashank Jaiswal and SK Singh, attended the somber event.
