Controversy Erupts Over Khalistani Posters in Sikh Shrines

Five members of a gurdwara management committee have been booked after posters of Khalistani separatists, including Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, were put up in two Sikh shrines. The posters were removed following police intervention, and an FIR was registered against the committee members.

In a significant development, five members of a gurdwara management committee were booked on charges related to the display of posters featuring Khalistani separatists in two Sikh shrines. This incident has sparked controversy and has drawn swift police intervention.

According to police sources, the posters of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, Amrik Singh, and General Subeg Singh were put up in the Model Town and Janakpuri gurdwaras. Following a complaint, the posters were removed, and an FIR was filed against five members of the Model Town Gurdwara Management Committee, confirmed Additional Superintendent of Police (City), Rahul Bhati.

Malik Singh Kalra, president of Gurdwara Shri Singh Sabha, Model Town, stated that the posters were meant to commemorate 'Balidan Diwas' of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots as directed by the Akal Takht Sahib. Despite police objections, the committee defended its actions, honoring the individuals as martyrs who lost their lives during Operation Bluestar in 1984.
