In a significant legal maneuver, AAP leader Manish Sisodia has petitioned the Supreme Court, contesting the Delhi High Court's verdict which denied him bail in high-profile corruption cases associated with the purported liquor policy scam.

According to the Supreme Court's cause list, a vacation bench comprising Justices Aravind Kumar and Sandeep Mehta will deliberate on Sisodia's appeal this Tuesday. This appeal follows the Delhi High Court's May 21 decision, which dismissed Sisodia's bail applications, citing severe misuse of power and a breach of public trust during his tenure as deputy chief minister.

The court highlighted that Sisodia allegedly tampered with critical evidence, including electronic records. The former deputy CM, who wielded considerable influence with 18 portfolios under the Delhi government, was responsible for formulating the contentious liquor policy. Accusations suggest significant irregularities and undue advantages offered to licensees, leading to the policy's eventual termination in September 2022.
