In a shocking incident in Mumbai's Sakinaka area, a man identified as Rajendra Shinde allegedly stabbed his wife and son over a delayed birthday cake. The 45-year-old suspect is currently on the run, confirmed a police official on Monday.
The violent episode unfolded when Shinde's wife, Ranjana Shinde, a domestic help, brought home the birthday cake late at 12.15 pm the day after his birthday. The delay reportedly enraged Shinde, leading to a heated argument where he subsequently attacked his family. His wife was injured on her wrist, while his son sustained stab injuries below the ribs and in the chest.
Both victims were quickly rushed to a nearby hospital by neighbors. While Ranjana Shinde has been released after medication, her son continues to undergo treatment at Rajawadi Hospital.
