Amanda Knox Re-Convicted in Italian Court Amidst Legal Flip-Flops
Amanda Knox was re-convicted of slander in an Italian court despite being exonerated for the 2007 murder of her roommate. The court ruled Knox wrongly accused an innocent man. Knox, now a mother of two, returned to Italy for the second time since her 2011 release to clear her name of the charges.

Amanda Knox was reconvicted of slander on Wednesday by an Italian court, despite her previous exoneration for the brutal 2007 murder of her British roommate while both were exchange students in Italy.
The court concluded that Knox had falsely accused an innocent man, the Congolese owner of the bar where she worked part-time, of the murder. However, she will not face additional jail time, as her three-year sentence counts as time already served.
Knox, 36, returned to Italy for the second time since her release in 2011. Despite showing no visible emotion during the verdict, her lawyer, Carlo della Vedova, stated that Knox was “very embittered.” Ahead of the hearing, Knox had expressed hopes on social media to “clear my name once and for all of the false charges against me.”
