Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday convened a high-level meeting with senior officers to review the ongoing public welfare projects in the state and issued essential guidelines for their execution.

The Chief Minister stressed ensuring timely and qualitative completion of these projects. According to an official statement, senior officers briefed Adityanath about the progress of various schemes and future action plans within their departments. Adityanath urged officers to maintain better coordination with departmental ministers and expedite matters of public interest.

Moreover, the Chief Minister called for an immediate demand for appointments to be made through concerned commissions, setting a fixed timeline for the selection process. He noted that as the first quarter of the financial year 2024-25 concludes, it is crucial that departments utilize their allocated budgets efficiently. Adityanath also highlighted the need to enhance GST collection efforts, linking officer performance to promotions and deployments.

Addressing power issues during the meeting, Adityanath instructed not to enforce unnecessary electricity cuts due to the heat and to promptly resolve transformer and wiring problems. He also emphasized the importance of pre-monsoon drain cleaning, particularly in slum areas, to prevent infectious diseases, urging thorough training and cooperation from healthcare and community workers.

Additionally, the statement affirmed the need for timely payments to sugarcane growers ahead of the new crushing season.
