Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait has extended his support to CISF personnel Kulwinder Kaur, who is embroiled in a controversy for allegedly slapping actor-turned-BJP MP Kangana Ranaut at the Chandigarh airport. Tikait emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the incident.
Ranaut had claimed in a video message that she was hit in the face and verbally abused by the CISF officer during a security check. The confrontation took place shortly after Ranaut's election to the Lok Sabha from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.
The CISF has since suspended Kaur and a comprehensive investigation is underway, including a court of inquiry. Tikait, while advocating for a fair probe, also urged politicians to refrain from labeling protestors as Khalistanis.
