15-Year-Old Girl Attempts Suicide After Viral Video of School Principal's Assault

A 15-year-old girl, reportedly assaulted by her school principal, tried to end her life by stepping in front of a train, police revealed on Saturday.

DK Mishra, the principal of Rambali Sharma Saraswati Bal Mandir School in Bharwari, is accused of the crime. An incriminating video featuring the principal and the girl surfaced on social media, prompting an official police investigation. In response to a complaint from the victim's family, a case has been filed under various sections of the IPC, IT Act, and POCSO Act.

A special team led by Circle Officer Sirathu Awadhesh Kumar Vishwakarma is handling the investigation. Vishwakarma stated that the girl attempted suicide by jumping in front of a freight train on the Delhi-Howrah railway line. Local police quickly responded and rushed her to the hospital.

According to her family, the girl was despondent after the video went viral, leading her to take the drastic step.
