Maulana Farooq, a 65-year-old local functionary of the Jamiat Ulama Hind, succumbed to a violent attack involving a monetary dispute over a land deal. According to law enforcement, Farooq was fatally struck on the head with an iron rod, leading to his death.

The tragic incident took place in Sonpur village within the jurisdiction of the Jethwara police station. Farooq had reportedly lent money to Chandramani Tiwari to purchase a piece of land. However, Tiwari allegedly sold the land to another party, police sources revealed.

When Farooq visited Tiwari's house on Saturday morning to confront him, a confrontation ensued, resulting in the fatal attack. Senior officials have arrived at the scene, and security has been intensified in the area to prevent further escalation.
