In response to a pressing water shortage, Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena will convene with Water Minister Atishi on Monday. The emergency meeting aims to address the inadequate water release by Haryana through the Munak Canal, a key potable water source for Delhi, officials from Raj Niwas disclosed.

The water minister, Atishi, had earlier requested this urgent meeting, revealing that the water supply from Munak Canal has dropped sharply from an expected 1,050 cusecs to just 840 cusecs. This shortfall threatens the operation of seven water treatment plants in the capital amid high temperatures.

Raj Niwas confirmed that the LG will assess the actual water position and necessary measures to mitigate wastage and leakage. Atishi emphasized the need for Central Government intervention to resolve this crisis promptly and prevent a worsening water situation in Delhi.
